Roof Structure of a New Covered Multi-purpose Court at Rikkyo University Niiza Campus
The roof of the semi-outdoor futsal court was constructed by using a BSS system
combined with PTFE membrane to create a “bright, lightweight structure.”
The BSS were assembled on the ground, and tension was manually applied to the cables. Taking advantage of the lightweight design, the assembled beams were then lifted by crane and installed on top the columns, showcasing a construction method unique to this type of structural system.
